Just adding two Sketches now, I should get life drawing again, I think it helps not just with drawing but graff letter stylin etc, it helps letter movement and flow IMO.. Also the female form is everywhere in one form of another in contemporary design if you notice, there curves and shapes do something to us.. Man's been fascinated by the female figure since the beginnings of art, From the earliest artefacts found going back thousands of years, Females have been a huge inspiration on us men. and lady's.. ..
l
On too another Female of the species, that's fascinated us in one way or another in these modern times.

Kate moss sketch, just ideas atm.. drawn from memory/imagination mostly and a reference image.
I might redo this sketch, maybe to work a painting from ? not sure yet, The drawing needs to be in proportion first.(Would of been easier to have her model in life, lol...)

Kate Moss appears to be kitsch these days in art, Not sure if its a good or bad thing?
Just Ideas..

Amoe x Rmer 2013

Top wall by Karm ( Amoe) & Rmer,
Really like the monochrome adds more atmosphere to the character and brings out the letters nicely.

Very dope!

Loving this work by R-mer, the lighting really adds to the feel of the painting. Almost twilight looking with the light, which echoes the feel and vibe of the character, who himself is approaching his own twilight years.
Great painting style, perfect colours with the blueish purple tinge, which adds to the effect and feel of this painting..

Sissy Strut

 Sissy Strut.
Small acrylic, on Canvas.
Sketch of Sissy and Super Strut
Sissy Strut outline, and character.

These are Inspired by a name Vini, came up  Check out his work here on Flickr..
Basically he named a character i was doing in my sketches etc, its progressed from there.
I'm going to do more work, both in comic and graffiti styled to more realistic paintings.
Including her sidekick Super Strut.

Watch this space for more work..
cheers Vini for the inspiration....

Pele

Painting of my close friend Pele.

I finally finished this painting I was doing of Pele my close friend for over 15 years.
We met when he wanted to learn graffiti, we both became close mates and was hanging around daily with our dogs, we'd exercise them for hours daily.
Sadly his life was cut short at such a young age, I wont go into details for his family's privacy.
He was a dear friend, and still feels as if he's not gone, It's difficult to explain.
He leaves two children and a grieving mother which this painting is for.
The photo is terrible, the colours are all washed out from a mobile phone.
I never took this picture, but its the only picture I have of this painting completed.
I've a few w.i.p. shots i may add later to show the colours..
Also I might revisited this painting and do another but in oil paint for his family.
Maybe with a dark background, I've only one photo to work from but I've tried to paint his "laid back attitude" if that's the right way to put it.
It was a difficult painting to do not just the work but the emotional issue to it.
I just hope His mother/Family are happy with it, I had to leave it somewhere for his mother to pick up before Christmas last year.
I hope I've done him justice, there's plenty of things I'd change, but you don't always see these errors while working on the painting.
So another one might be on the line..

Rest in peace mate
Kevin..

I really need to save up for a camera & tripod to take better pictures.
and a better looking portfolio.

Merc and Corze.

Skroe-Scroe by Merc and Corze. by scroezcvk

Skroe-Scroe
Painted By Merc & Corze - London 2012

As my health problems make it near impossible to paint walls now esp the Psoriatic Arthritis & recently was told I have Fibromyalgia too by the hospital dermatologists & the consultant Rheumatologist.
I really find it frustrating to not paint.
Though just going on about it does nothing, I'm going to try at least this year I've got to even if its a fully emulsion fill and background or phat cap silver, I know my crew mates will have my back, Even if it takes me two weeks I really want to try It would do me the world of good.

Anyway I was so taken back when I stumbled upon these killer pieces by Merc and Corze on flickr, who both rocked my name as a surprise!
Merc goes back to the 80's where he was rocking tube panels as long ago as 86.
You cant imagine how happy this made me feel, not only are they fresh, to spend time, use there paint to produce these pieces truly made my month, Its deeper than two pieces to me.
I'm completely over the moon with what they done.
I've been so fortunate and lucky to have met my best mates through graffiti and met or got to know the soundest people through this artform.
I'm going to get this professionally printed and framed for my flat.
Even if these where not in my name these would or are killer pieces, true burners.

I'm so thankful, I hope to surprise you both later this year..

Check out there work on flickr, Both rock the up most standards.

Thanks again guys..

Rave Paintings

Rave paintings, Ideas.
another quick sketch, or prep sketch, for the rave ideas, I'll will paint it once I've found the right ideas to build up a composition, i should do some oil sketches next to get the lighting and values, the woods where dark apart for the lighting rigs, strobes, UV lights, lasers and coloured lights and smoke, fog machines, a lot of the paintings will be in sharp shadow with colours reflected on the skin of the ravers from the different coloured lighting, to the strobes used that captured the rain drops beautifully like diamonds each time it rained, with each flash the light, they where flashing at speed to the 4x4 beat of acid house-rave music.
the traces from peoples movement while dancing, the diamond like rain drops and colours will make this painting pretty abstract.
Too fully capture the atmosphere, just painting static figures like these drawings will make this series non interesting.
Apart from the oil sketches, its going to be about 5 or more main paintings that will be large for this series, I'll prob make it mixed media with spray paint, acrylic and oils.
The next paintings in this series which I've not even drawn yet will be paintings after the raves, the cool blue air, early morning light, the dead of the city centre, with other party/ravers, pigeons and seagulls chasing and following with the council cleaning trucks like they are transformer toys from the future.
Seen through surreal eyes while the certain substances begun to wear off, roads still moving like the sea anything moving fast like flying birds and the odd cars add long with traces behind them. Like something from back to the future.
All this will be all from memory's too to celebrate the biggest youth movement since punk-rock, and the counter-culture which it had a lot in common with, like the second summer of love in 1988.
The House and Rave movement is still going on just not in the media, theve had there feast back in 88.

A tune from then, that reminds me of the above 808 state
Another page of drawings, I seen something about ballet on the stret, to me certain gymnastics go hand in hand in with break-dancing, anyway just ideas for now, I wish I looked after all my old sketch pads and drawings and outlines I sold some and lost many more.

Operation Anderson

just part 1 of a video of operation anderson, the biggest operation BTP did of its kind, back in 1989, Writers from Bristol had it hard, with it stemming from there too other citys around the south east, up to Birmingham, down to Plymouth, Exeter, it was a big raid here in Cardiff, I think 24 writers incuding myself and crew mates all raided by BTP.
It took a year for them to build up a case, though it fell flat for BTP who where expecting bigger results.
The first judge thought it was ridiculus and it then went to another court, then another, lastly it went to the crown courts. We really had it easy esp compared to the stupid pointless, but terrible custodial sentences writers are getting these days.
Myself, I had £100 fine and 12 months conditional discharge most other writers had the same sentences.
the only thing we where gutted about was losing our pictures of much of the tracksides etc we never took many flicks back then so losing them was a gutter...
Anyway Thanks to MR Kilo for the upload, Its only part 1 for now, but we'll hopefully get part 2 when Kilo is not as busy and has time to upload etc..

Thanks again Mr Kilo..

squid piece..

squid piece.. by scroezcvk
squid piece.., a photo by scroezcvk on Flickr.
piece by squid, based on an outline i did for him, I'd say he rocked this so good, makes me so pleased to see the next generation coming up and pulling so much flavour and spice to there work.
though based on an outline, he truly made this his own..
